NYU Florence and The Recovery Plan are happy to invite you to Blackn[è]ss Festival: A Conversation with Ariam Tekle. This conversation presents the history and ongoing work of the Milan based initiative Blackn[è]ss Festival. Designed to explore, celebrate, and connect the world of Afro-descendant people in Italy, the festival is conceived by Ariam Tekle, director of a documentary on the so-called "second generation" of Eritreans in Milan (Appuntamento ai Marinai) and creator, with Emmanuelle Maréchal, of the podcast Blackcoffee_pdc. The conversation features Tekle and is a great opportunity for students and the broader NYU community to learn about grass roots cultural organizing and important efforts to shape the Italian cultural panorama.
