Questa mostra è il secondo capitolo dedicato all’archivio personale del pioniere dell’hip hop Donald-D. Attraverso fotografie, ritagli di riviste, poster e materiali di tournée, il progetto propone un viaggio alle origini dell’Hip Hop attraverso la memoria materiale di una delle sue voci fondamentali. Un viaggio alle origini dell'Hip-Hop attraverso i ricordi materiali. La mostra ripercorre gli anni dal 1988 al 2001, quando Donald-D faceva parte dei Rhyme Syndicate con Ice-T fino al suo arrivo in Italia. Nato nel Bronx, Donald-D ha iniziato come B-boy prima di affermarsi come MC e produttore. Membro della Zulu Nation e della Rhyme Syndicate di Ice-T, ha pubblicato gli album Notorious (Sony) e Let the Horns Blow (Warner Bros.), contribuendo inoltre a numerose colonne sonore cinematografiche. La sua carriera attraversa radio, collaborazioni internazionali e produzione, includendo esperienze in Giappone e in Italia. Oggi residente in Italia, Donald-D continua a produrre musica, a trasmettere su Contro Radio e a pubblicare nuovi lavori, tra cui l’EP B.R.O.N.X.. Donald-D vive a Firenze dal 2001.

This exhibition is the second chapter dedicated to the personal archive of hip-hop pioneer Donald-D. Drawing upon photographs, magazine clippings, flyers, and tour material. This is a journey through the origins of Hip-Hop through the material memories. This exhibition will cover the years 1988 to 2001 when he was a member of Ice-T’s Rhyme Syndicate through his arrival in Italy. Donald-D is Bronx-born, with his beginnings as a B-boy before emerging as an MC, producer & writer. A member of the Zulu Nation and Ice-T’s Rhyme Syndicate, he recorded the albums Notorious (Sony) and Let the Horns Blow (Warner Bros.), and contributed to numerous film soundtracks, and tv shows. His career in radio has traveled the globe, The Zulu Beat (W.H.B.I. in New York), The Old School Show (Power 106 in Los Angeles), Joint One(Inter F.M in Japan), Street Team Show (Control Radio in Italy)
